From Mr. Pruett: Dear Seniors of 2020, We as a staff and community know what your senior year means. It is one of the most important moments of your life, so far. As you go through life, there will be other milestones, but right now, this is the biggest for you. Things have not gone in any way that anyone could have predicted, but here we are, and we want to make sure our school, our families and our community get to celebrate your accomplishments. The Orestimba High School Staff wants to create a week that is all about you. We did not want to select a date early in the summer, just to be disappointed if it gets postponed again, so we have selected dates that are late in the summer before most of you head off in new directions pursuing your dreams. We realize the dates below may be cancelled; we have learned that nothing is certain. You need to know, however, that the staff at Orestimba cares about you getting a chance to celebrate your high school graduation. I know Mr. Reeves sent out notification that your senior trip was cancelled. I am sorry to say that due to the circumstances, we had little or no control over that disappointing decision, but we are working on a plan to make Prom 2020 free for every senior at Orestimba. You will still need to follow Mrs. Stearns’ instructions for signing up for and receiving prom bid, because we need to be able to plan for food and entertainment. We look forward to seeing you during senior week. It is with a heavy heart that we have to send you this message. Due to the uncertainness of the current Covid-19 pandemic, we will be cancelling the annual senior trip to Southern California this year. Our account technician will be working on refunding all out of pocket payments made for the trip. Money earned for the trip through fundraisers, will be used for several end of the year activities. We know this is not the news you were hoping to hear. The administration and senior class advisors are working on a Senior Class Celebration that is scheduled for July 29th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 am on July 30th. There will be many activities for the graduating class to participate in that night. As the week goes on, there will be more announcements for new dates on Baccalaureate, Senior Awards, and of course graduation. As always, stay strong Warriors.

Campuses may be closed but our kitchens are still open! NCLUSD Nutrition Services provided 15,500 meals to children ages 1-18 from March 19, 2020 to March 31, 2020. Starting Monday, April 6, 2020 we will also be providing supper. Thank you to all of our wonderful staff who are making this possible! NCLUSD is continuing to work together to make a difference, today!

We have further guidance and directives from State Superintendent of Instruction Tony Thurmond and Governor Gavin Newsom to keep schools closed through the end of the current school year.

April 1, 2020 is Census Day! The Census is important because it helps to decide how much federal money our schools will get over the next ten years, and how much money our state will get for our parks, neighborhood improvements, public health, transportation, and many other programs and services. Updated meal schedule and bus routes starting Monday, March 30 through May 1, 2020. No meals on April 10th.

Seniors: The TOSCA scholarship application deadline is March 31. Class of 2020 is able to submit without transcripts.

Stanislaus County Office of Education, in collaboration with the Stanislaus Public Health Department, is announcing that school closures will extend at least through May 1, 2020.

Lunch is served! Effective March 23, 2020 meals will be available for pickup at Von Renner and Hurd Barrington Elementary, Monday through Friday from 11:00am-12:00pm. Meals will be FREE to ALL children ages 1-18. Children must be present in order for meals to be provided. Meals will include a daily lunch and breakfast for the following school day. The NCLUSD food truck will also be traveling an established route to deliver meals. Fisherman's Bend/Martin's: 10:00-10:30am Catfish Camp: 10:45-11:15am Bonita Elementary: 11:30am-12:00pm

It was great to see members of our NCLUSD staff this morning during an extended cabinet zoom meeting. We are all still here to support our students, their families and the community we serve. By limiting the amount of time and people we interact with, we are truly working together to make a difference, today!

The deadline to register for your courses for the upcoming school year is Monday (March 23rd) afternoon. Students will not have access after Monday afternoon and classes will be chosen for them. If you have any questions or need help, please email Ms. Dola or Mrs. Vargas.

Times almost up to pick up a nutritious and delicious lunch and breakfast. Hurd Barrington, Hunt, Von Renner, Yolo and OHS will all be serving until 1pm today, parents/guardians can pick up lunches via drive up or walk up. Children must be present in order for meals to be provided. Meals are FREE to ALL children from ages 1-18.

Beginning today, Thursday Mach 19th there will be no access to the Orestimba High School campus, facilities, and office. If you have any questions we will answer them by phone at (209) 862-2916. If you have specific questions regarding your students online learning or specific to their courses please contact their teacher prior to calling the office. NCLUSD Food & Nutrition Services program will provide an opportunity for families to drive through and pick up FREE meals for the children ages 1-18 in their family at school sites. Children must be present in order for meals to be provided, effective March 19 - April 9.

Revolution Prep Newman Crows Landing USD has partnered with Revolution Prep to provide Orestimba High School students a live-online homework help tool. Students have unlimited access to Revolution Prep's tutors in all major subjects, including Advanced Placement. Attention to TOSCA Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Applicants - due to the circumstances surrounding the quick spread of COVID-19 and the closures of universities, schools, and most offices, TOSCA will accept the 2020 application with unofficial transcripts if necessary. OHS seniors may submit their applications without transcripts as TOSCA will acquire them directly from the high school.
