Dear NCLUSD Families,
It has now become clear that the effort that we have been putting forward to protect our community must continue. Many areas in California, including Stanislaus County, are experiencing an expanding outbreak of respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19). To prevent even more spread of COVID-19, the Stanislaus County Office of Education, in collaboration with the Stanislaus Public Health Department, is announcing that school closures will extend at least through May 1, 2020.
I know this will be a major challenge for everyone. This has not been easy and we appreciate all that you are doing to keep yourselves, your families and all of the Newman, Crows Landing and Diablo Grande communities safe.
Public health experts tell us that the most effective way to minimize the impact of COVID-19 is by keeping all of us away from each other as much as possible. That can’t happen if our schools are open.
Please know that although our schools will remain closed we are quickly changing the way we operate so we can continue to serve our students, staff and community.
- Remote learning will continue. Refer to our Remote Learning link for information on both academic and social emotional learning. If you are having any difficulties please email your teachers or principal for assistance.
- Our successful meal program continues Monday through Friday for all children ages 1-18.
The times we are in are unprecedented and I acknowledge the anxiety this may cause our students and the burden this places on our staff and working families. This is a challenging time for our community and we remain committed to working with you!
